The founder

I am 55, thirty years into my career, and I am looking for a job.
That is why ZenitJob exists.

My name is Ignacio Tomé Esteban. I have spent close to thirty years leading sales and business development teams, as an executive and as a partner. Not long ago I had to start looking again, and this is what I found. ZenitJob was born from that real need: it is not what I do for a living, it is what I built while I look for my next role.

How it came about

A story told in the first person

When you have a long career and want to go back

When you have thirty years of experience and want to return to the job market, it is a world of work to rebuild all that experience and condense it so it can be read, analysed and valued. Thirty years do not fit in two pages; and what fits has to pass first through an automatic filter that does not know who you are, and then in front of someone who gives it a few seconds. Everything out there is designed for someone starting out, not for someone who has led.

When you have worked for yourself for years and miss the company

I have spent the last years as a partner and as a freelancer: my own projects, my own clients, deciding alone. You learn a lot, and you miss something else: being part of a project that is not only yours, a team to walk into in the morning, a company that grows with you inside it. Going back to that with a long career has an added difficulty: the years on your own have to be explained so that they add up, not so that they throw off whoever is reading.

First it was a tool for me

So I started building something for myself, to put my own career in order: a master file with everything I had done —every role, every figure, every result— from which to draw the CV each offer asked for, without starting over every time. It had no name. It was my tool.

Then I gave it a name, and made it better

I called it ZenitJob. I added what I was missing: that it tell me which achievements were duties in disguise, that it force me to put the figure, that it produce a two-page CV by area, that it adapt CV and letter to a specific offer, that it tell me how an automatic filter would read me. I used it first, in my own applications.

After sitting at every side of the table

I have been sales and marketing director, general sales director, partner, founder and freelancer. I have sold, bought, opened stores and countries, closed chapters. At 55 I feel strong enough to work fifteen more years, with better judgement than ever. What I did not expect was that the hardest challenge of my career would be telling it: going back to the job market with all that experience and getting it read in full.

And I thought of the people in my situation

If it worked for me, with my career, it would work for many people in the same seat: directors and senior professionals with fifteen, twenty, thirty years behind them, who do not need to be taught how to work but helped to tell it. That is ZenitJob: the tool I would have liked to have the day I started looking.

What I am looking for

A sales and business development leadership role, in a company in transformation or with an international outlook, where thirty years of experience are an asset and not a label. I have fifteen more years in me.

If you are about to interview me, read this

Yes, I built ZenitJob, and yes, I use it in my own search. It is not my retirement nor my plan B: it is proof of how I work. An executive who, when he cannot find the tool, builds it, measures it and ships it. My place is still leading a team and a P&L; ZenitJob runs on its own and does not take me off the table.

The problem

Thirty years of career against a few seconds of reading

88%of employers admit their filter screens out qualified candidates. The filter does not expel you: it decides who gets read firstHarvard Business School / Accenture, "Hidden Workers"

How it works

Once, and in order

1Your master CVDictate it or import it. Everything fits: it is your archive.
2Achievement reviewWhich line is a duty, which figure is missing, what merges into which result.
3CV to send, by areaSales, operations, general management: two pages, measured.
4Adapted to each offerCV and letter from the master, compared against the vacancy and the filter.
5Sending and follow-upEvery version kept: what you sent, to whom, when, and what happened.

"Put your CV into an AI and it comes out perfect"

We tried it. This is what really happens.

It is the line you hear most, and it is not entirely false: a generic AI rewrites well. The problem is what it does when it does not know something, and about your career it knows nothing.

The catches, one by one

  • It makes up figures. If your achievement has no number, it adds a plausible one. A "+35%" that never happened, on a CV a headhunter is going to check.
  • It loses data. It summarises, trims and sometimes swallows a whole role or changes a date.
  • It sounds like everyone. "Led", "drove", "transformed": the recruiter recognises the AI style by the third line.
  • It mixes styles and does not control the two pages: every time you ask for another version, the criterion changes.
  • It keeps nothing. Every offer is starting over, and there is no record of what you already sent.
  • It does not measure. It opines about automatic filters, but it neither simulates them nor compares against the offer.
  • Your CV stays in a chat belonging to a third party, under that third party's terms.

What changes in ZenitJob

  • It also uses artificial intelligence. The difference is not the AI: it is the method and the rules that fence it in.
  • It does not invent figures. When a number is missing it leaves a gap and asks you; if the model makes one up, the application rejects it before you see it.
  • You approve every sentence. Nothing enters your CV without your acceptance, and everything can be undone.
  • One style across the whole CV and a two-page cap that is measured, not promised.
  • A master file and every version kept: what you sent, to whom and when.
  • It measures instead of opining: your CV against the offer and against an automatic filter, with its limits stated.
  • Your data is not sold and trains nothing.

Designed and measured

There is no magic AI.
There is a method, and it is measured.

Let us be clear: ZenitJob is not "a prompt". It uses first-rate artificial intelligence, but fenced in by a method we have built and checked for more than a hundred days: what it is asked, what it is forbidden, what is checked before its answer reaches you, and what happens when it gets it wrong. That cannot be copied by pasting your CV into a chat: a chat has no master file of yours, keeps no versions, does not measure your two pages and does not reject an invented figure.

Everything on this page comes from the project repository itself, not from a slide deck: every rule was first tested on real executive CVs, every change passes seven automatic gates before release, and an independent tester has walked the screen with a real browser four times, with scores and with faults that were fixed.
